【English】the + country the + 国になる国名

We have to put "the" with a country in the following cases:

1) the + United / Union / Republic

   e.g.  the United Kingdom
          the Republic of the Union Myanmar


2) the + plural

    e.g. the Netherlands
          the Philippines

Everything else →　NO the

When I leave "the" out  the names of those countries,
native speakers can notice it, though the sound of "the" is
very little heard.

日本語でいう「おばさん」と「おばあさん」
「主人」と「囚人」をネイティブスピーカーが
間違えるのに日本人が気がつくのと似ていると
Nicolaが言うてた。theは発音しているかしていないか
ほとんど聞こえないようなまさに微妙なところであるが
抜ければリズムが変わり、ネイティブには気づかれるという。
